Can I use Wasabi Ball with Object Locking?
Due to the nature of the S3 API, using the Wasabi Ball to ingest objects with the object locking feature into Wasabi is unsupported.
In order to use object locking, you must first enable versioning. Third-party applications use the version ID of the object to keep track of which objects are locked and not locked. In the current S3 API, version IDs are uniquely generated across a server upon object upload. Using the S3 API, there is currently no way to take a version ID created on the Wasabi Ball and transfer it over to Wasabi while keeping the same version ID. This would break existing applications attempting to use object locking.
