# ELEMENTS With Wasabi

Wasabi has been validated for use with [ELEMENTS](https://elements.tv/). ELEMENTS provides a powerful hardware and software platform that supports every post-production and broadcasting workflow step from sophisticated on-premises technologies with unique features to future-proof cloud solutions.

## Requirements

- ELEMENTS version 26.2 and higher
  - Admin access to ELEMENTS Web UI
  - Media Library license and third-party cloud storage license
- Active Wasabi storage account
  - Wasabi Bucket (see [Working With Buckets and Objects](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/working-with-buckets-and-objects))
  - Access and Secret Key Pair (see [Creating a User Account and Access Key](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/creating-a-user-account-and-access-key))

## Connecting a Wasabi Account

1. Log in to the ELEMENTS Web UI.

2. Navigate to **System** and **INTEGRATIONS**. Click **Connect a Wasabi account**.

3. Provide a name for the connection. On the **Connection** tab, provide the following details and click **Save**.

Select the **Enabled** checkbox.

  - Access key ID—Wasabi access key
  - Secret access key—Wasabi secret key
  - Endpoint—the service endpoint URL of the region where the bucket is located
4. Navigate to the **Cloud Workspaces** tab. In the Credential Management section, enable the **Share credentials** option. Click **Save**. Click **Close** to close the dialog box.

The new integration will be displayed in the Active Integrations section.

## Adding a Cloud Volume

1. Navigate to **System** and **GENERAL**. In the Storage section, click **Manage volumes**.

2. Click **Add cloud storage**.

3. Select the desired Wasabi bucket. In this example, the bucket is elements-wasabi.

4. Provide a name for the cloud volume. Click **OK**.

5. Enable the **Workspaces** option to allow creation of new workspaces on this volume. Click **Save**.

The Volumes tab displays the Wasabi cloud volume.

## Creating a Workspace

1. In the navigation bar, click **Workspaces**. In the Workspaces section, click **Create workspace**.

2. Provide the following details and click **Create**.

The Wasabi workspace will display in Workspaces.

  - New workspace name—provide a name for the workspace
  - Production—choose the desired production
  - Cloud volumes—select the Wasabi cloud volume created earlier
3. To enable Media Library on this workspace, click the Wasabi workspace. Navigate to the **ADVANCED** tab and click **Create Media Root**.

4. Provide a name and path for the workspace. Click **Create**.

## Mounting a Workspace

ELEMENTS workspaces can be mounted locally using the ELEMENTS client.

1. Download the client from the Web UI login page.

2. Once the client is installed, launch the client and log in using your credentials.

The client will display all the mountable workspaces for which you have access permissions.

3. Click on the workspace icon to browse the files.

You can access the media in the workspace locally.

## Configuring Valet for a Workspace

Valet lets you sync and relocate workspaces (completed projects) with a secondary location, whether on-premise or in the cloud, and optionally clean up the local copy to save space.

1. In the desired workspace, navigate to **VALET**. Click **Set up Valet**.

2. Select the cloud volume for the **Parking location**. Click **Set up and sync**.

3. Click **Continue** to start the initial sync.

The Valet tab will display the parking location and related valet options.

## Creating Automation Jobs

The Automation page enables you to set up complex and fully automated jobs. It also enables you to trigger jobs from the Media Library or directly from the Windows Explorer or macOS Finder.

### Creating a Copy Job

1. Navigate to **Automation** and **JOBS**. Click **Create a new job**.

2. Click **Copy files**.

3. Enter a name for the job, then click **Copy files**.

4. To enter a source, click **Add input**.

5. Select the desired source path. To configure a destination, click on the folder icon under Destination.

6. Click **Go to** to browse the cloud volume.

7. Select the desired cloud volume. Click **Select this directory**.

8. Configure additional desired settings. Click **Save**.

To run the Copy job, click **Start job**.

### Creating an Archive Job

1. Navigate to **Automation** and **JOBS**. Click **Create a new job**.

2. Click **Copy files**.

3. Provide a name for the job. Click **Copy files**.

4. Configure the desired input and destination. Click Save.

5. Click **Add step**.

6. Click **Delete files**.

7. Configure the input (same as the input configured in the Copy files task earlier). Select the desired action to delete the source files after they are copied to the cloud volume. Click **Save**.

8. To run the archive job on demand, click **Start job**.

9. To run the archive job on a schedule, navigate to **SCHEDULE**. Click **Create**.

10. Enable the schedule and configure the desired setting. Click **Save**.

The Archive job will run on the configured schedule.

### Creating a Restore Job

1. Navigate to **Automation** and **JOBS**. Click **Create a new job**.

2. Click **Copy files**.

3. Enter a name for the job. Click **Copy files**.

4. Navigate to Input, choose the files you want to restore. Select the destination for the restored files. Click **Save**.

When you run the job, the selected file will be restored to the configured location.
