# Enabling Upload Speed Limit in WCN

This feature enables you to control the bandwidth for uploading objects by limiting the speed at which files are replicated. When enabling the upload speed limit, the specified value is stored in the “replicate_bw_limit“ key in the registry.

> This setting specifies the bandwidth limit. It is not guaranteed that the uploaded speed will meet the specified kbps/mbps rate. The upload and download speed depends on the internet connection and the number and size of uploaded objects.

1. Click **Global Settings**.
2. Click the checkbox to **Enable upload speed limit**.
3. Enter a number into the type field.

4. Click the drop-down to select a unit.
5. Click **Apply**.
6. A message will notify you that WCN must restart to apply the changes. Click **Yes**.
7. A message will confirm that WCN was successfully restarted. Click **OK**.
