Who has access to my data after I ship the Wasabi Ball to Wasabi?

While Wasabi Ball is in transit, your data is secure as the hardware is physically secured in an outer casing. The device is secured with an administrator username and password for login. Once we receive the Wasabi Ball at the Wasabi data center, the data is automatically stored in Wasabi vaults through remote commands, rendering it inaccessible to anyone.

Can I order more than one Wasabi Ball at a time?

You can order multiple Wasabi Balls if you are transferring data sets larger than 100 TB.

Can I use Wasabi Ball to migrate data between geographical regions?

Wasabi Ball is only available as a data transport solution for moving large amounts of data in and out of a designated Wasabi cloud geographical region. For use cases that require data transfer between Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage geographical regions, Wasabi recommends using Wasabi Object Replication.

Can I purchase a Wasabi Ball?

Wasabi Ball is only available on a monthly rental basis and is not available for purchase.

Can I request that Wasabi not delete my data from Wasabi Ball after it has been uploaded to Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage?

No. Wasabi has an automated workflow process to securely erase all data from Wasabi Ball once ingestion has been completed.

Why Wasabi Ball rather than Wasabi Direct Connect?

Wasabi Ball is a more cost-effective solution than Wasabi Direct Connect in most cases. If you are not sure which is a better product for your use case, contact your Wasabi Sales representative. Wasabi will help you find the right solution based on your needs.

Are there any limitations to keep in mind when using Wasabi Ball?

S3 object locking is not supported when loading data to Wasabi Ball.
