# Grass Valley Framelight X With Wasabi

Wasabi has been validated with Grass Valley’s Framelight X. [Framelight X](https://www.grassvalley.com/products/ampp/framelight-x/), powered by the AMPP platform, streamlines content creation and distribution, eliminates redundant workflows, and maximizes asset utilization to enhance productivity and efficiency.

## Prerequisites

- A Grassvalley AMPP account
- An active Wasabi account

## Framelight X configuration

### Configuring Internal Stores

Internal Stores are normally configured as part of the onboarding process. The internal stores are as follows:

| Project Store | Stores editor timelines and other artifacts |
| --- | --- |
| File Store | Stores a variety of asset-related files (PNGs, WAVs, PDFs, etc). Can also be used to store high resolution media. |
| Proxy Store | Stores low-resolution proxy media |
| Still Store | Stores poster images, single-frame images and other asset-related still images. |
| Waveform Store | Stores audio waveform and metering data |

Each of the stores can be configured to use Wasabi Storage.

When an account is first commissioned, these stores will have no configuration. Logging into Framelight X in this state will prompt the user with a warning that storage needs to be configured. Once configured here, the setting will propagate to each individual internal store over the next few minutes. To configure Internal Stores, follow the steps below.

1. Log in to the Framelight X application. Click on the “Admin” tool.

1. In the Admin tool, click “Locations —> Internal Stores”.

1. To configure the stores to use Wasabi Storage, make sure the “Generic Storage” checkbox is set. Provide the following details and click ‘Save”.

- Bucket Name - name of the Wasabi bucket
- Service URL - Service URL of the region where the bucket is located
- Access Key - Wasabi Access Key
- Secret Key - Wasabi Secret Key

***Note:****This configuration example discusses the use of Wasabi's us-central-1 storage region. To use another Wasabi storage region, use the appropriate*[*Service URL for Wasabi's Storage Regions*](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/what-are-the-service-urls-for-wasabi-s-different-storage-regions)*that your bucket is located in.*

1. A dialog box is displayed asking to confirm the S3 configuration. Click “Save”.

Once configured, internal stores can be seen in the Admin tab, in Locations -> Stores. Internal stores have type of “Internal” and a site of “AMPP”.

***Note:****Internal stores cannot be reconfigured from the UI once the first configuration is applied. Please consult Grass Valley service if it needs to be done.*

### Configuring External Stores

Under normal circumstances, high resolution media is stored in external stores. These may be on-premise storage devices like a NAS or a cloud storage service like Wasabi. To configure external stores, please follow the instructions below.

1. In the Admin tool, navigate to “Locations -> Stores” and click the “Add” button to create a new store,

1. In the “Add Store” dialog box, provide the following details and click “Save”.

- Name - name for the External store
- Type - select S3 from the dropdown
- Service URL - Service URL of the region where the bucket is located
- Base Path - base path should be in the form or s3://<bucket>/<prefix>
- Access Key - Wasabi Access Key
- Secret Key - Wasabi Secret Key

***Note:****This configuration example discusses the use of Wasabi's us-east-2 storage region. To use another Wasabi storage region, use the appropriate*[*Service URL for Wasabi's Storage Regions*](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/what-are-the-service-urls-for-wasabi-s-different-storage-regions)*that your bucket is located in.*

1. The new Wasabi store will be created. This store can now be used for the purposes of importing and exporting media to/from Framelight X.

The stores can be used in different workloads like S3 Monitor, S3 Trigger and Proxy Generation.
