# DobiProtect With Wasabi

Datadobi's [DobiProtect](https://datadobi.com/migrate/)[](https://datadobi.com/protect/) has been validated for use with Wasabi. For more info on how Datadobi and Wasabi work together, visit this [page](https://wasabi.com/datadobi/).

Follow steps outlined below to move or copy data to Wasabi.

1. Login to DobiProtect using your credentials.

1. Click on the "Configuration" tab and then select "Object Storage", as shown below.

Notes:
  - The product name “DobiSync” is used for protecting NAS data on Wasabi.
  - The product name “DobiReplicate” is used for replicating S3 data from any object store to Wasabi, or vice versa.

1. Click on "Add" on the bottom right corner to configure your Wasabi storage region.

1. Select “Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage” as the object storage type and click "Next".

1. Provide the following and click "Next"

**Note:** This configuration example discusses the use of Wasabi's us-east-1 storage region. To use other Wasabi storage regions, please use the appropriate Wasabi service URL as described in this [article](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/what-are-the-service-urls-for-wasabis-different-storage-regions).
  - Endpoint (the appropriate region-specific Wasabi service endpoint URL)
  - Access key
  - Secret access key
2. Enter a name for your Wasabi connection and click "Next"

1. You should now see your Wasabi buckets including the list of proxies that can be used for transfers to/from Wasabi. Select all available proxies and click "Finish" to complete the configuration.

The KB article details the configuration needed to protect NAS file data on Wasabi and to replicate S3 buckets to Wasabi.

**How to protect NAS file data on Wasabi**

2. Click on "New Sync" on the bottom right corner to configure a sync job.

1. Select the appropriate Source Path and click "Next".

1. Select the Wasabi object store and appropriate bucket as the sync destination. This should be an empty bucket. Click "Next".

1. Click "Next" and "Finish" on the next 2 windows to confirm the selections and schedule the sync job. At this point, you should see activity on the DobiSync dashboard between the DobiSync platform and your Wasabi bucket.

1. Your NAS data is now being protected to your Wasabi bucket. Check the Datadobi documentation for advanced configuration options and for instructions on how to restore data from Wasabi to your NAS systems.

**How to replicate S3 buckets to Wasabi**

1. Navigate back to the Dashboard and click on "Replications"

1. Click on "New Replication" on the bottom right corner to configure a new S3 object replication

1. Select the appropriate source bucket, for example on AWS S3.

1. Select the destination bucket on Wasabi and click "Next". This should be an empty bucket

1. Click "Next" and "Finish" on the next 2 windows to confirm the selections and schedule the Replication job. At this point, the dashboard should show the replication job.

1. Your object data is now being protected to your Wasabi bucket. Check the Datadobi documentation for advanced configuration options and for instructions on how to failover, failback or restore data from Wasabi.
