# Mediaflex-UMS With Wasabi

[Mediaflex-UMS (Unified Media Services)](https://tmd.tv/mediaflex) by [TransMedia Dynamics](https://tmd.tv) helps you orchestrate and securely preserve digital and physical assets, transforming media management via workflows. Wasabi has been validated for use with Mediaflex-UMS.

### Prerequisites

- Mediaflex release Q1 2024 and later
- S3 compatible File Transfer Service

### Configuration

#### 1. Add a Storage Device for Wasabi Hot Storage

1.1. Log into the Mediaflex Workstation Client.

1.2. Navigate to Tools > Area / Device Configuration.

1.3. Right click on an area and select Add New > Device.

1.4. From the "Type" drop down box, select "S3 Compatible Storage".

In the Details give it a unique name to identify the Wasabi Hot Storage.

Enter the following information:

- **Access Key ID** - Input your Wasabi Access Key
- **Secret Access Key** - Input your Wasabi Secret Key
- **Service URL** - Enter in the Wasabi Storage Region URL that you plan on using
- **Bucket** - Input your bucket name
- **Vendor** - Set to Generic
- **Region** - Input the Wasabi Storage Region

#### 2. Add the Transfer.S3 Compatible Service

2.1. Log into UMS Manager in your preferred browser.

2.2. Click the ellipsis of a controller that the service should be added to and select "Add Service".

2.3. Search for "S3 Com" and select "Transfer.S3 Compatible" from the list. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bef0a1ea-7768-4d5a-b520-c4fe2f7fafad/Images/Documentation/image-1732114689907.png)

2.4 Fill in the settings as required (can be left to use the default values).

2.5. Click on "Save" when done.

#### 3. Configure a Data Move task in a Preset

3.1. Log into the Mediaflex Workstation client.

3.2. Navigate to Workflow > Workflow Designer.

3.3. Add a Data Move task to the designer.

3.4. Configure the task, selecting the "Wasabi Hot Storage" device created in Step 1 in the "Copy To" section.

3.5. Save the preset.

3.6. This preset can be raised to copy items to Wasabi Hot Storage.
