# Inventory: Defining Actions

The Inventory feature makes it easy to gather an inventory list/manifest of your bucket contents. You simply create a configuration for a bucket and indicate that you want report generation daily or weekly. Wasabi will automatically place a manifest of the current bucket as a CSV file in the destination (target) bucket you specify. The target path for an inventory configuration is:

In the API, `Prefix` is supported under `&lt;S3BucketDestination&gt;`. If an inventory is created with `Prefix`, the inventory file must exist in this path:

<Name of the Prefix> / <Destination Bucket> / <Name of the Inventory> / < Time Stamp> / <Inventory file.csv>

## Defining a New Inventory for a Bucket

1. On the Buckets list, click ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bef0a1ea-7768-4d5a-b520-c4fe2f7fafad/Images/Documentation/image-1698327400423.png)for the desired bucket.
2. Click **Settings**.
3. Click the **Inventory** tab.
4. Click **Create New Configuration**. The Inventory Configuration panel is displayed.

5. In the **Report Name and Destination** area, enter a name for the inventory report. The name can contain only letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and dashes.
6. Click in the **Destination Bucket** box and select a bucket into which the report will be placed.
7. Optionally, enter a **Destination Prefix**. For example, if you are configuring an inventory for images, you might enter **images** as your prefix.
8. In the **Report Filter** area, you can optionally enter a **Prefix** to define how you want to filter the objects in the report.
9. Specify that you want to collect either the **Most current version** or **All versions**.
10. Optionally, you can specify additional metadata fields for the objects in the report. To do so, select individual options or **Select all additional metadata fields**.
11. Indicate how often the report will be generated: **Daily** or **Weekly**.
12. By default, the configuration status is enabled. When enabled, the report will begin to be generated (after you save the configuration) at the frequency you define (daily or weekly).
13. Click **Create**.

When you create a configuration, it is displayed in an Inventory Configuration list. For example:

## Editing a Configuration

1. In the **Actions** column, click ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bef0a1ea-7768-4d5a-b520-c4fe2f7fafad/Images/Documentation/image-1698327400423.png)for the desired bucket.
2. Select **Edit**.
3. Adjust the configuration.
4. Click **Save Changes**.

## Deleting a Configuration

1. In the **Actions** column, click ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bef0a1ea-7768-4d5a-b520-c4fe2f7fafad/Images/Documentation/image-1698327400423.png)for the desired bucket.
2. Select **Delete**.
3. When asked to confirm the deletion, click **Delete**.
