Managing Your Wasabi Account Control API Keys

      Article summary

It is recommended that you rotate your API key periodically for security purposes. Partners using WACA can rotate a second API key within the Wasabi Management Console. Having a second key lets you keep your applications that leverage WACA running smoothly when you are rotating keys. With the Console feature, you can generate up to two keys at a time and rotate them accordingly.

You must contact Wasabi Customer Support to enable the WAC API Key Rotation feature.
      1. Using the Wasabi Management Console, click Settings on the Wasabi menu. Or, open the account sign-in drop-down and click Settings.
      2. On the Account Settings panel, open the Wasabi Account Control API Key drop-down:

If there is an existing key, as in the example above, you can click:

to show the key, which is hidden by default.

to copy the key to the clipboard.

to delete the key. When you delete, you are asked to confirm because deleting will invalidate the API key.

      3. To generate a new key, click the Generate New API Key button. The key is generated automatically.

When you have two API keys, as shown in the following example, the button to generate a key is grayed and unavailable. You can create only two API keys at a time, as indicated in the bottom right of the panel.

To rotate the key, simply delete one (or both) of the existing keys and generate another.
