You can set two properties for your bucket:
- Bucket Versioning, which allows you to preserve, retrieve, and restore every version of every object stored in the same Wasabi bucket. Versioning offers an additional level of protection by providing a means of recovery if you accidentally overwrite or delete objects. With versioning, you can easily recover from unintended user actions and application failures. You can also use versioning for data retention and archiving.
- Object Lock, which prohibits modification, overwriting, or deletion of specific object versions during a configured retention period, which can be a fixed amount of time or indefinitely. For an overview of the Object Lock feature and an understanding of the differences between compliance and object lock, refer to Immutability: Compliance and Object Lock. The difference is important to understand because if you create a bucket that has object lock enabled, compliance is automatically disabled.
