Getting Started with Wasabi Cloud NAS Configuration
Get started with Wasabi Cloud NAS Configuration by:
- Activating Wasabi Cloud NAS
- Pairing a Source with the Bucket
- Configuring Bucket Settings
Specify whether each modification of the file on the source should be kept as a separate version on the bucket or the latest modifications should overwrite the previous one. Or, turn on compliance mode for the bucket and configure the retention time of objects in it. - Configuring Automatic Data Replication
Specify the files that are automatically replicated to the bucket. As Data Replication is indispensable for any WCN workflow, a global replication policy governing all pairs of source and bucket is configured by default. The global replication cannot be deleted and you can change only its settings. You can overwrite the global replication policy for any pair of source and bucket. - Configuring Automatic Space Reclaiming
Specify the replicated files that are to be replaced with nearline files on the source. You can configure global the Space Reclaiming policy, valid for all pairs of sources and buckets. You can also overwrite the global Space Reclaiming policy for any pair of source and bucket. - Configuring Active Sync (geo-replication)
Specify when a source on one computer sends a notification to sources on other computers indicating that new data is replicated on the same bucket and also when a source updates its contents with files replicated on the same bucket from other sources. You can configure the global Active Sync policy, valid for all sources. You can also overwrite the global Active Sync policy for any source. - Configure Versioning
Even if versioning is enabled on the bucket, but you have not enabled it on Cloud NAS, each new copy of the same file, which is being replicated to the bucket, overwrites the previous one. To see how to enable data versioning and control the number of versions kept in the bucket, refer to Configure Versioning section.
Specify by how long after a file is deleted from the source it should also be deleted from the bucket in case 'Delete replica when source is removed' is enabled. Use this time interval to undelete accidentally deleted files. For more information refer to Configure Soft Delete Policy section.
- Configuring Delete Mode
When you delete a file from source, its replica on the bucket is automatically deleted as well. To ensure against accidental deletion of valuable data, you can set the Cloud NAS to delete just the instance of the file on the source but keep the copy on the bucket. For more information refer to Configure File Delete Mode section. - Pausing/Resuming Automatic Wasabi Cloud NAS Operations
