What are the prerequisites and technical restrictions that apply to the Wasabi Ball?
The Wasabi Ball Transfer Appliance (Wasabi Ball) allows you to move large data sets to Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage quickly, conveniently, and cost-effectively. Below are the prerequisites and technical restrictions that pertain to the use of the Wasabi Ball.

Technical Prerequisites and Restrictions
The customer is solely responsible for encrypting their data prior to transferring to the appliance. Additionally, the customer is responsible for requesting Wasabi to turn on volume-based encryption on the appliance.
The customer is solely responsible for preserving an additional copy of their data uploaded to the Wasabi Ball until the data has been successfully uploaded to the Wasabi Cloud, and validated by the customer following the completion of the upload process to the Wasabi Cloud.
Files larger than five TB in size should not be transferred to the Wasabi Ball. Five TB is the largest file size that is supported by the S3 protocol.
File names with UTF-8 special characters may have to be renamed before being transferred, as they are not supported by Wasabi.
