Version 3.0.0.53 - April 25th, 2025
Enhancement
The tray icon now includes the option to view the files excluded from replication. Right-click the Wasabi icon (available in the tray at the bottom right corner), and click Show Excluded Files to open the Wasabi Cloud NAS (WCN) Explorer window to view the list of all files excluded from synchronization or replication.
A tooltip feature has been implemented for all options within the Global Settings pane of the WCN software. These tooltips provide useful information regarding the consequences of enabling or disabling available options.
Changes
Modifications to versioning and compliance settings now sync between the WCN software and the Wasabi console. Users are required to refresh the WCN software by selecting "Refresh all" following any modifications made in the Wasabi console to ensure that updates take effect in the WCN software.
The WCN software now requires a username and password before mapping a "drive" as a source with the bucket in the Wasabi console, addressing a previous lack of validation that resulted in internal errors.
The Wasabi context menu for manual operations is now available on the shared folder from the remote PC when the folder is used for peering and mapped to a Wasabi bucket.
The updated WCN software no longer runs PowerShell scripts during the installation. Executing PowerShell scripts violates IT policies in some organizations and hinders the installation of the WCN software on local servers.
Renaming an object after its retention period expired did not update the Wasabi bucket. This issue has now been resolved.
Adding a policy to the bucket that prevented users from enabling the Compliance settings also restricted their ability to allow versioning settings. This issue has now been resolved.
The partial upload feature is deprecated.
With the current version of the WCN software, users will observe the creation of a new bucket each time a source folder is mapped to a Wasabi bucket. This new bucket will be designated as <<BUCKETNAME-WCN-META>>. It is important to note that this bucket contains the metadata related to the mapped Wasabi bucket and will neither increase usage nor impact associated costs. Users are strongly advised to avoid accessing this folder.
The stub files generated during the synchronization process accurately inherit the security settings from the parent folder, contingent upon the activation of the preserve security descriptor feature.
The WCN software service has been updated to prevent the duplication of error records in the event viewer.
The WCN software enforces the S3 bucket naming convention during the Wasabi bucket creation from the WCN software, ensuring compliance with the guidelines specified in the relevant knowledge-based article.
