    Article summary

Below are several FAQs pertaining to Wasabi AiR.

    What is Wasabi AiR?

Wasabi AiR is an AI-enabled media storage service that adds structure to unstructured data by automatically tagging data as it is ingested in the Wasabi Cloud. The industry's first searchable active archive, Wasabi AiR is a fully integrated solution designed with accuracy, security, and affordability in mind.

How does Wasabi charge for AiR?

Wasabi AiR has simple, transparent pricing. You are charged for the number of hours of content that is processed. If you have 300 hours of video in your Wasabi AiR bucket, you will be charged $7.99/hr for each hour processed. Wasabi never charges for API requests or data egress so, once processed, you can access your content and metadata freely without incurring anything other than storage charges.

You purchase Wasabi AiR hours similar to our Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS) pricing model, where you buy a block of hours (for example, 500 hours) on a 1-year contract. There are discounts for larger block purchases. These hours expire after 12 months.

Optionally, you can subscribe to a software license for Wasabi AiR Insight, which provides search and browse capabilities through a user-friendly UI. The annual software license is based on the total number of hours you have processed, starting at $7200/yr.

What are the benefits of using Wasabi AiR compared to other AI products?

Wasabi simplifies AI technology for media tagging and makes it affordable. Wasabi AiR is a ready-to-use managed service with minimal set-up effort, and not a set of tools that must be configured and integrated. The service comes with a web-based UI that allows for the highly refined search of content libraries by keywords, people, places, objects, logos, and more. In addition, Wasabi AiR provides highly accurate speech-to-text transcriptions and translations to English from over 50 languages.

What languages are supported in speech-to-text?

These languages are translated into English: Afrikaans, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Marathi, Maori, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Welsh. Translation into other languages is not supported at this time.

Does Wasabi AiR allow for custom metadata fields?

Customers can create custom metadata fields and populate them in any way they like through API or manually.

Will other people be able to see my machine learning output, or have access to a model I train within Wasabi AiR?

No because each time you ingest media into Wasabi AiR, the machine learning models you use will be walled off from others. And, any training or teaching of that model stays local to your environment.

What languages are supported by Wasabi AiR in the UI and metadata results?

The UI is supported only in English at this time. The OCR detection capabilities include over 80 languages. Speech-to-text also detects over 50 languages and can translate them into English.
