Context Menu for the SMB Folder

How can I enable the context menu for the SMB folder mapped to Wasabi Cloud manually?

An SMB folder is a network file share accessible through the Server Message Block protocol. This protocol enables users to access files stored on a server across a network as if they were on their local computer.

With permission to access an SMB folder, users can map the shared folder to the bucket on the Wasabi cloud. The installed Wasabi shell extension on the server provide context menu options for the replicated folders and files, such as reclaiming space, retrieving data, and so on.

If the context menu is not displayed on the mapped source folder, follow the steps below to enable context menu options for the SMB folders.

  1. Run regedit on the server where the WCN client is installed.
  2. Access Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wasabi\tiger-bridge\tiersvc\settings.
  3. Set allow_remote to 1. The default is 0.
  4. Open the WCN client and click Refresh All to force reloading all the settings.
  5. On a client machine, go to the network share. Right-click and select Wasabi Cloud NAS > Remote Monitoring.
  6. Enter the IP address of the Server (WCN server).
  7. Enter the local path on the Server (control folder).
  8. Specify the timeout (in seconds).
  9. Click OK.
  10. Refresh the network share from Windows Explorer.
