Powering Up and Shutting Down Wasabi Ball With a QNAP Device

Powering Up
When you connect the Wasabi Ball Transfer Appliance to a power supply (or the system recovers from a power outage) and the power switch is in the On position, the system returns to its last state:
- If the system was powered on, the system automatically powers on again when the power supply is connected or power is restored.
- If the system was powered off, the system remains off when the power supply is connected or power is restored. In this case, press the power button on the front of the system to power on the system. (Refer to the following example.)

Shutting Down
Two methods for shutting down are described:
- Preferred
- Forced
Preferred Method
You can shut down your system by using the power button or the QNAP web browser interface.
Shutting Down Using the Power Button
Press and hold the power button for 1.5 seconds. This will power off the QNAP appliance.
Forced Method
Perform a force shutdown (using the power button or through the QNAP web console) only if the storage system is not responding.
Shutting Down Using the Power Button
To perform a forced shutdown, press and hold the power button for five seconds.
Shutting Down Through QNAP Web Console
- Point a web browser to the IP address of the Wasabi Ball.
- Log in with the username and password provided by Wasabi.
- Once logged into the QNAP web console, click on the username in the top right.
- Click Shutdown.
