Auto Renew

Will my plan auto-renew?

Yes. All paid Wasabi accounts are set to auto-renew by default. Month-to-month customers (“PayGo”) are informed of the auto-renew policy at signup, including via the Wasabi Customer Agreement. Yearly customers (“RCS” or “PayGo Commit”) are informed of the auto-renew policy via the Customer Agreement and on the quote. Free trial users must add their billing information and opt-in to a paid subscription.

Why does Wasabi use auto-renew?

Wasabi is an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) company, and our service is focused on the storage of customer data. Without auto-renew, your account and any data you store is at risk of being immediately deleted following the end of your current subscription term. Customers who fail to properly monitor their subscription terms may inadvertently allow their term to expire and find their data permanently deleted. Wasabi’s process helps limit the risk of accidental deletions, such as if a customer employee responsible for payment goes on leave.

Can Wasabi offer a grace period or transition window?

No. Wasabi accrues fees from our datacenter providers for any customer data stored on our service, regardless of whether the customer is paying us. As a result, Wasabi cannot agree to maintain customer data past the end of the customer’s subscription term. The Wasabi Customer Agreement allows for the immediate deletion of data following the end of the term, and the customer would be responsible for any such loss.

Can auto-renew still be removed/cancelled?

Monthly PayGo accounts will continue until terminated. PayGo users are billed for their actual storage used in the preceding month; they are NOT prepaid. If you are a monthly PayGo user and wish to terminate, simply log in and delete your account via the Settings tab. Note that this will immediately delete your account and any stored data, and you will be charged for any unpaid storage in arrears.

If you are a current RCS or PayGo Commit customer with a yearly subscription, provide notice of your intent not to renew pursuant to the terms of your quote and the Wasabi Customer Agreement. If you are a potential RCS or PayGo Commit customer, request a quote from your account representative removing auto-renew.
