How to Buy & Activate Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage?

Wasabi’s Hot Cloud Storage service has multiple options available to customers and partners in order to buy and activate a Wasabi cloud storage account. The following article outlines detailed information for each of the options.

For Customers:

Wasabi is available in both pay-as-you-go and reserved capacity storage pricing models. Customers can choose to buy Wasabi through one of our fast growing list of Channel Partners or (VAR, MSP, CSP) or you can also buy and implement Wasabi Cloud Storage directly from Wasabi.

For Channel Partners:

Wasabi is available in both pay-as-you-go and reserved capacity storage (RCS) pricing models. Partners can choose to buy Wasabi through an authorized Wasabi Distributor, or you can contract with Wasabi directly if there is no distributor in your area. This approach applies in the following use cases:

Channel partners wishing to sell Wasabi via the pay-as-you-go pricing model

Wasabi is a channel friendly vendor. Wasabi requires the channel partner to follow the steps outlined below before they are fully onboard

1. Review information about becoming a partner in the following video and execute the steps to sign the partner agreement

2. Choose an implementation model outlined in the following article

3. Contact Wasabi's Channel & Alliance organization for any additional questions

4. If implementation model #1 (Wasabi Account Management API) has been chosen, contact Wasabi to discuss this implementation model

5. If implementation model #2 has been chosen, follow steps outlined below to activate your customer:

   1. Create a Wasabi free trial account here

   2. Convert to a paying subscriber by following steps outlined in the following article

   3. Follow detailed instructions provided under “Method #2” in the following article to create and activate customer buckets.

Note: If multiple Wasabi accounts are required, contact your Wasabi channel representative.

Channel partners wishing to sell Wasabi via the RCS pricing model

Wasabi is a channel friendly vendor. Wasabi requires the channel partner to follow the steps below before customers are onboarded under the reserved capacity storage model.

Note: Only Wasabi VARs or Distributors can resell Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage to their end users.  MSPs may purchase RCS for themselves but we do not offer RCS to MSP sub-users.*

1. Review information about Reserved Capacity Storage here

2. If you would like to become a Wasabi VAR, review information provided in the following video. Contact Wasabi Channels & Alliances organization for any questions

3. Contact your Wasabi channel representative or contact channels team at Wasabi to request a RCS quote.

4. Partner must submit a signed quote and Purchase Order to Wasabi outlining the details of their purchase.

5. Once the pertinent agreements have been submitted to Wasabi, a Wasabi storage account can be associated with this agreement. The End User MUST create a Wasabi storage account here before the account can be updated to reflect the RCS  purchase. This free trial provides the user 30 days & 1 TB of storage during the trial period.

6. The Wasabi account will be updated to reflect the RCS purchase and the invoice will be sent to the Partner with a copy of the invoice and specific details about how to use the RCS account.

7. The Partner will then relay this information to the end user.  

Customers wishing to buy Wasabi pay-as-you-go or RCS service direct from Wasabi

For Customers wishing to purchase directly from Wasabi using the Pay-as-you-go pricing model:

Wasabi offers its hot cloud storage to all users. Customers who wish to subscribe for Wasabi Hot Cloud storage directly with Wasabi, follow the steps outlined below:

1. Sign up for a free trial here. Wasabi’s trial period gives a user 30 days & 1TB of storage during this trial period. Customers may choose to convert a trial to become a paying subscriber mid trial period or end of the trial period.

2. To convert from a being a trial customer to a become a paying subscriber, follow steps outlined here

For Customers wishing to purchase directly from Wasabi via the Reserved Capacity Storage pricing model (note that RCS has a 50 TB / 1 year minimum term):

Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage makes buying cloud storage a natural addition to your on-premises storage. Customers who wish to subscribe for a an a Wasabi  RCS account, follow the steps outlined below:

1. Review information about Reserved Capacity storage in this video

2. Contact Wasabi Sales requesting for information about a suitable RCS package to fit your cloud storage needs (the Wasabi sales rep will assist you in providing you a quote for the RCS purchase)

3. Customers must create a Free Trial Account here (which will provide 30 days and 1TB of storage)

4. Once the signed quote and purchase order has been received, Wasabi will convert your account to be a paid account and your account will be updated to reflect the reserved capacity purchase  

5. An invoice will be sent to the customer along with detailed instructions on how to use Wasabi

Customers converting from the pay-as-you-go to the RCS pricing model

If you are an existing customer using the pay-as-you-go pricing model and you would like to convert your account to the RCS pricing model, please contact either your Wasabi Sales Rep or your Wasabi Partner. They will work with you to convert your account - similar to the steps identified above.
