Multi-User Authentication for Account Deletion

It is an unfortunate fact that bad actors threaten your data on a daily basis. At Wasabi, it’s already incredibly difficult for those bad actors to destroy your data. And, it's even harder with our new Multi-User Authentication for Account Deletion feature.

This feature introduces an MFA-protected setting in which the Root user can assign up to three security contacts. These contacts must unanimously approve of an attempted account deletion. MFA is required to create, modify, or delete any security contact. Additionally, the security contacts do not have credentials to access the Wasabi Console, so there is no risk of them being compromised. 

For example, if there is an attempt to delete a Root account and a security contact denies the deletion, this is the type of message the Root account user will receive:

Event Notifications (SNS)

Leveraging the AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS), Wasabi offers an Event Notifications feature. Event notifications give you a way to receive information about specific storage activities that take place on your account.

To use the feature, AWS credentials must be added to the Event Notifications tab on the Console Settings page. Then, Event Notifications can be configured for each bucket in the bucket settings. 

You can define the types of events for which to receive notifications related to specific topics. Subscribers of a topic will then receive those notifications from Wasabi. 

MFA Code to Disable MFA

The Console now requires an MFA code (newly generated or recovery code) to disable MFA. Previously, once you accessed the Console, you could turn off MFA with a simple button click. This provides an extra layer of protection for Wasabi's MFA feature.

Easily Accessible SSO and WAC API Audit Logs 

You can specifically access and download SSO (V2 only) activity logs.

Wasabi Account Control API (WACA) users can specifically access and download WACA activity logs within the Administrative Logs panel in the Console. 

WCSM-Dedicated IAM Policy 

Previously, only Root users could access the WCSM redirect in the Console. Now, you can simply add the pre-existing ManageWCSMReplication policy to any user, and that user will be able to use the redirect.
