How do I use Grass Valley’s Edius Broadcast with Wasabi Object Storage?
Grass Valley’s Edius Broadcast video editing software may be used with Wasabi Object Storage to edit and store video.
This article describes the procedure to configure Edius Broadcast software to utilize Wasabi Object Storage.
Prerequisites
Edius Broadcast version 11 software installed and licensed. This solution was tested with version 11.40 running on Windows 11.
Edius Broadcast version 11 S3 Direct Access Option license installed.
Active Wasabi Cloud Storage account.
Wasabi access and secret keys.
A Wasabi non-Object-Locked (non-immutable) bucket. See Creating a Bucket for details.
Configure Wasabi Credentials and Region Info
In the Edius console, click on the Settings menu, then System Settings.

Expand the Importer/Exporter line, click on Amazon S3, then click on Add.

Enter a name (“Wasabi” in our example) and your Wasabi access and secret keys. Make sure “Use HTTPS” is checked. Under the Advanced section, click the checkbox next to “S3 Endpoint for custom domain” and enter the domain name for your bucket’s region. Click OK.
In the following example, the Wasabi us-east-1 region was used. Please refer to Service URLs for Wasabi's Storage Regions for the correct domain name for the region your bucket is located in.

Display Wasabi Bucket Contents within Edius
In the Source Browser, expand the Amazon S3 folder, then expand your Wasabi folder to show your buckets. In the example below, previously created folders are shown within the “mt-edius-test-2025…” bucket.

Click on your bucket (or a folder within your bucket) to display the contents. In our example, several previously uploaded files are shown. You may utilize the Wasabi Console or an application (such as Cyberduck or Mountain Duck, S3 Browser, Wasabi Explorer, etc.) to upload files to your bucket.

Edit a Video File from your Wasabi Bucket
There are different ways to edit a video from your Wasabi bucket.
You may drag and drop a video file from your bucket within the Edius Source Browser to the Timeline to edit it without placing it in the bin.

You may also place a file into the bin first by right-clicking on the video file and the clicking either “Add and Transfer to Bin” (downloads video from the bucket to the bin) or “Add to Bin” (does not download the video).

Edit the video such as shown in the example shown below.

Save the Edited Video to your Bucket
Click the Export button.

Click Print to File.

Expand the All section and scroll down.

Expand the S3 section and select the appropriate options and exporter. Click Export.

Give the clip a name, select your Wasabi bucket (and folder under Prefix if needed), select the appropriate options, and click OK.

The progress will show 100% in a green progress bar when the upload has successfully completed.

To see the uploaded video file in your bucket, in Source Browser right-click on your bucket (or folder within the bucket) and click on Refresh.

The file will now show up in your bucket.
