Installing WSC for any VMS involves three basic steps, as described below:
- Account Creation
- Installing WSC
- Configuring WSC
Account Creation
WSC can be installed on a live Windows server. It does not require a reboot and there is no need to stop your VMS software from recording.
- Sign up for a WSC 30-day 1 TB free trial account at https://billing-service.wasabisys.com/CommunitiesSelfReg?pid=WSC.
- Once you enter the necessary information and click Get started on the signup page, you will receive an email to complete the setup of your storage account.
- Click the Create Account link in this email to be redirected to a page where you will set a password for your Console access.
- Configure the password and click Sign in.
- Click the Continue your trial button. You will be redirected to a page where you can download the WSC software.
- Download the WSC software to the Windows machine where you intend to deploy it.
Installing WSC
- You begin the software installation by running the Wasabi Surveillance Cloud installer file as Administrator.
- Click Next to continue the installation:
- Click the checkbox to agree to the license terms and conditions. Click Next.
- Select the appropriate VMS (Video Management System) you are using or plan to use from the list of profiles. If your VMS application is not listed here, select Other.Important: For Milestone XProtect users, select Milestone-XProtect to install the WSC plugin that integrates directly with Milestone.
This does not add/modify/delete any configuration on your VMS. This step only ensures the WSC software is optimized to work with your VMS application.
- The following WSC components are available for installation.
Select the applications to install. Then, click Install to continue the installation process.
The installation takes a few minutes.
- Click Finish once the installation is completed successfully.
WSC is now installed and ready for you to configure the software.
Configuring WSC
- A login screen is presented where you have to enter your WSC Console credentials that you created in the Account Creation, Step 4 above.
For example:
If you previously installed WSC software on a different server, you can click the Skip to Manual configuration link to enter the S3 API keys manually. - Once you click Submit and the credentials are validated, a Configuration Wizard window pops up. This wizard helps with quick configuration of WSC so you can begin using the application instantly.
VMS Location — Click on Browse to navigate to your VMS recordings directory and select it. This will be set as the source which needs to be replicated to Wasabi.
Region — Select the appropriate region where the server is located
Wasabi Service URL — Based on the region selected above, the appropriate service URL is automatically selected.
Bucket Name — A new bucket is created with the prepopulated name. You can change this to a different and unique bucket name. Follow bucket naming conventions explained when you move the cursor around the question mark.
- Once you have entered all the information, click Configure.
- Finally, a Configuration Summary is displayed. Click Finish to close the Configuration Wizard.
Wasabi Surveillance Cloud is now running and replicating data from the set source to your target Wasabi bucket.
