QNAP HybridMount With Wasabi

Prev Next

Wasabi is certified for use with QNAP’s HybridMount application. HybridMount is used to integrate NAS with cloud services and enables low-latency access to the cloud with local caching. A NAS with limited capacity can mount cloud storage to expand NAS storage capacity.

In our testing, we have used version 1.17.5530 of the HybridMount application. Wasabi recommends using the latest version.

  1. Click the HybridMount application icon on your QNAP NAS dashboard to initialize the application.

  2. Click Create File Cloud Gateway to add Wasabi storage.

  3. Select Wasabi from the Cloud service drop-down.

  4. Enter your access key and secret key.

  5. Click Search and choose the appropriate bucket.

  6. Click Next.

  7. You can adjust the cache capacity settings for read and write operations as per your requirement and specifications. Click Create.

  8. Once the file cloud gateway successfully creates a mount, you will see the screen below with a green checkmark indicating that the mount was successfully created.

  9. Click Mount Management to confirm the new Wasabi mount is ready.

  10. Your new Wasabi mount will appear as a drive within the QNAP NAS.

  11. To allow only specific users to access and use the Hybrid Mount, you can set those permissions on the Hybrid Mount application. Click the 3 vertical dots in the upper right hand corner. Click Settings.
